Aaron has not been himself for about a week, right about the time we increased his seizure meds. He has not eaten anything since then and struggles to drink. He has to drink no less than 50 oz and no more than 60 ounces a day due to diabetes insipidus. (has to do with his sodium level). Some days he barely makes 45 ounces. His mood is good, he is all over the house and is still pulling himself up to a stand but something is not right. Now his body temperature is starting to fluctuate. Today it dropped as low as 96.1. So far it goes back up with his warming blanket after about 30-45 minutes. He also has a runny nose this afternoon. I am hoping that it is just a virus that he is fighting. He went and saw Dr T today and she was a little concerned about him. She increased his meds and told us to watch closely for any signs of an adrenal crisis. He had a bunch of labs done and he hates the dinosaur bed. It is a bed in the peds outpatient clinic where blood draws are done. As soon as the tech said put him on the bed he started screaming. It takes a few people to hold him down and it is horrible to see. I rub his head and give him kisses but nothing helps. I know part of it is him being blind and all of the people and sounds I just wish I could make it all better. He is such a sweet little boy and always has a smile. When he leans in for a kiss and wraps his arms around my neck my heart melts. I LOVE this precious little boy!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICHOLAS!!!!!

I can't believe that you are 7 years old today. Where has all of the time gone? You my sweet boy have brought me so much joy and taught me so many things. Because of you I have the best job ever, being your mommy. I thank God EVERYDAY for you and your brothers. I am so proud of the person you are becoming. To hear you talk about your faith and to hear you pray for others is amazing. You are such a good friend and big brother. You have changed my life and I love seeing the world through your eyes. I am enjoying every moment with you because time is going so fast. I love the way you jump into my arms to say goodnight, the way you yell "Love You" over your shoulder as you run to the bus stop, when you climb into my lap to snuggle, grab my hand when we are out and about, make sure your brothers have their favorite toys, and just the way you love others. You are such a special boy and God has an amazing plan for you. I am looking forward to see all that you will learn and accomplish this year. Happy birthday my sweet boy. I love you!!

Big boy school

Today was Keagan's first day of Preschool. He was so excited and couldn't stop talking about finally being in "big boy school". He had a great day and loved the string cheese for snack at school. He sang "The Wheels On The Bus" all the way home. He can't wait to go back tomorrow and sing more songs.

Birthday party

Today was Nick's birthday party! He had it at  Bounce Mania and all the kids had so much fun!! They got to jump in the bounce houses for an hour then they had pizza, chips, cake and ice cream in the party room. Nick had so much fun with all of his friends! He opened gifts last and the kids were so cute. They all got up to help Nick and they were openeing their own gifts..too cute! He had so much fun and is already planning his party for next year!!

My sweet Taevon is doing great. He has been with us for 5 weeks and he has changed so much. He is full of smiles and has the best little giggle. He loves watching the boys be silly and LOVES to be with Aaron. It is amazing to see how well they interact with each other. When they get up in the morning as soon as Aaron hears Taevon he starts crawling so fast towards T and T's face lights up when he sees him coming! I have been doing exercises and stretches with Taevon and I can tell a difference in his left leg and fingers already. I can't wait to get the rest of his therapy started at Turnstone. He still has 2 Drs that we are waiting to see, the eye Dr and the orthopedic Dr next month.

I was also  able to talk to a different nurse at T's school and I feel so much better. His teacher said he is loving all of the kids at school and he gets excited when he sees the bus come in the morning. It still makes my day when he gets so excited to see me after school. Even though he is only gone a few hours in the morning I miss him like crazy!!! I am so lucky to have been blessed with my 4 little boys!!

getting organized

Being organized is a must for me.
I have 4 boys that go to 4 different schools and I finally have a system that works for us. Each of the boys is assigned a color and that color is used on all schedules. They each have a binder in their color and it contains all of their school, medical information and therapy (for the 2 that have PT, OT, Speech and Vision therapies) information. I also have a family binder that includes all of our schedules and important information.

I make our menu a month at a time and I prep our meals for the week on Sunday evening after the boys go to bed. I write the menu for the week and that helps me stay on our schedule.

I also have set days for the housework that I TRY to keep, but playing with my boys ALWAYS comes first!  They will not always be little but the housework will always be there. I iron everyones clothes for the week sometime during the weekend and I have learned to have extras just in case. Even though I seemed to be organized there is always a feeling of panic that I am going to forget something or someone is going to miss a bus and throw the whole schedule off. My OCD can also get out of hand with all of the last minute therapy and Dr appointment chnages. When I start to get stressed I just think of my little angels and smile.
