I am loving every moment of summer vacation. The boys and I are having so much fun. I never dreamed that having a house full of giggling boys would be so rewarding. I am so lucky to be able to experience EVERY little thing with them. Maybe its just me but I can't imagine ever going anywhere without them. I never want to miss kissing them goodnight or getting my morning hugs and kisses. This is everything and so much more than I ever thought I would have.
Today we spent our time doing science experiments. It is so fun to see Nicholas process everything and make predicitions about what he thinks is going to happen. I love having Keagan right at my side helping me do everything. He is doing great measuring and counting! We sing songs to Aaron while we are working and he loves it.
We had a bunch of dirty pennies and we decided to clean them. The kids thought water and soap and water would do the job. So they put pennies into a cup of water and into a cup of soap and water. I chose vinegar and the boys put some pennies into my cup of vinegar and salt. We waited for a few minutes and then checked our pennies. The boys decided that there was no change in the pennies that were in the water. They did think that the pennies in the soap and water looked a little cleaner. The pennies in the vinegar mixture had the biggest change. They had fun talking about what they thought would happen and then actually seeing the results. Nicholas is happy the pennies are clean so he can put them in his penny collection.
After we cleaned all of the pennies we decided to see what would happen if we put a bar of soap in the microwave. The boys werent sure. Keagan thought "it will cook good" and Nicholas just wasnt sure. They were both so excited to see what would happen...
They really enjoyed this activity. I think we will do it again soon. Next time we will take it outside and add water to see what happens!
