great drs

Wednesday June 27, 2013

I have a wonderful team of Drs taking care of Aaron. When we were first looking into adopting Aaron we were told that there weren't any good Drs here and that we should look at Riley. I knew he had a lot of medical conditions and I wanted to talk with the Drs here. I knew we had a good pediatrician for Nick and I really wanted him to take care of all my boys. I am so thankful that I did. He has taken such great care of Aaron. I know Aaron would not be here with us if it weren't for Dr C and all of the other Drs he has working with Aaron.  Together they have made Aaron better when I had started to lose hope. He listens and acts on my concerns. He has taken the time to get to know Aaron and his personality. He has heard him make sounds and realizes they are new ones. He knows his level of activity. He knows Aaron.

Aaron had an appointment Wednesday morning at 8:15am. Riding in the car puts him to sleep. He was still sleeping when I put him in his wheelchair and headed into the medical building. As we were walking down the hall he stretched and pulled out his feeding tube. I stopped and was trying to untangle the tube and turn the pump off. Aaron was still sleeping and he has a very hard time waking up due to all of his seizure meds. He slumped forward as I was trying to turn off the pump. All of a sudden I heard someone ask if I needed help If he was ok. I am so used to people telling me that Aaron is sleeping because he is blind and always looks down or giving me a disgusted look like he should not be out in public. I was still untangling the tube when I said he was ok that he was just sleeping. I looked up to see Dr C with a look of concern on his face. He knew Aaron. He knows that he is usually sitting up and alert. I feel so incredibly blessed to have such amazing Drs.

Having these amazing Drs has also made the decision easier to add more boys tour family. I know I have the time, energy and love for more special little boys and I know I have the Drs to take care of their special needs. I am so thankful for each of our Drs.

Aaron's Dr appointment

Wednesday June 26, 2013

Aaron saw Dr C this morning. My chunky monkey weighs 54 pounds! He said he looks great, even his heart rate was good. Dr C decreased his amount of formula and increased his free water. He will recheck him in a month. I am so thankful for Aaron's drs and that he is doing so well. It has been a rough year but it looks like he is getting better.

Tae's Candy Land Party

Sunday June 23, 2013

Today we had Tae's birthday party. He had a Candy Land party and he loved all of the colors.

Aaron was still sleeping when the party started. I missed seeing him at Tae's party but he needs his sleep.

Tae was quiet during his party. But once everyone left he was full of smiles. He loved his balloons and spent a long time playiung with them. My heart melts everytime he smiles.

                                            Happy Birthday Taevon!!

6 years old

Friday June 21, 2013

Today Tae is 6 years old. I can't believe how fast time is going. He is getting so big and has changed so much in the last year. I love seeing him interact with the boys. He is such a sweet little boy and I am incredibly lucky to be his mom. I love the way his face lights up when I get him up in the morning. I love how he kicks his legs when he is excited. I love how he melts into my arms and puts his head on my shoulder. But most of all I love to hear him laugh. I am so excited to be homeschooling Tae next year. I can't wait to see everything he is going to learn. I am so lucky to be able to stay at home with my sweet boys. Happy Birthday Tae. I love you!!

                                                     I LOVE this little boy!!

joy

Friday June 14, 2013

Things are going great. Aaron is getting stronger and healthier every day. He has gained so much weight. I am sure that they are going to cut back on his feeds next week. He looks so healthy and has started moving around again. He can sit up by himself again and has even started to try and crawl. He is making new sounds and has started using his words and signs again. I am so thankful for every minute I get to spend with him.  Taevon is happy as always and will be 6 in a week. I have been planning his Candy Land party and almost have everything done. He has started therapy outside of the school and is doing great. We are working on oral stimulation and he has even been swallowing!! We are hoping to get him to a point where he can have a swallow study done and hopefully be able to eat by mouth!! Keagan is as wild as ever. He makes me laugh everyday. He is so excited to be going to school all day this Fall. He talks about it all the time. We are still working on his behavior and lack of impulse control and he is getting better retaining new info. I love his dimples. Nick is enjoying his summer vacation. He is looking forward to seeing  which kids are in his class and meeting his teacher. He can't wait to go to his schools library tonight. I love having all of the boys home and watching them play. I am looking forward to homeschooling Aaron and Taevon next year. I can"t wait to see all they are going to learn

Star Wars

Friday May 31, 2013

The boys went to the Tin Caps game tonight. They were so excited to see all of the Star Wars characters. Keagan wanted to know if he got to "fight" "Darf Vaber" too cute.  They just had to have light sabers to take tonight.
